If an email account is managed primarily via IMAP, and especially via WebMail, a considerable number of folders will accumulate over time. Typically, only a few of these are currently/most frequently used. The ability to pin individual folders as favorites at the top (above the inbox) would speed up the filing and processing of emails, especially if you also pre-sort emails using filters.

In some cases it would be beneficial for users to have folder "Favorites" where you can add some other folders to and therefore have easy access to the important folders of a user.
