After upgrading to Horde 5 my iPhone cannot sync contacts with my adress book anymore. I have deleted the old account on the iPhone and readded it. Calendar sync works well. When syncing contacts (no matter if I use protocol Version 2.5, 12.0, or 12.1) a packet with the first 24 contacts is sent. After that the same packet is sent again and again and again (until your cellphone battery and your data quota from your carrier runs dry :-) ). My wifes contacts sync without problem on the same phone. The main difference between our adressbooks is that mine has lots of contact photos, so maybe some buffer overflows or something. The same adress book with the same amount of photos was synched withour problem on horde 4...

> Sync log? Horde log?

Problem only occurs with that adress book, all others sync successfully. I then tried to remove the photos. After several where gone. The first 25 would sync and then the second message would be endlessly repeated. After removing even more the rest would be synced as well...

There is nothing in the Horde.log. I of course cannot post the Sync log here as its full of live contacts. I can send that to you via Email. What do you need? the log with a contact list full of photos or the empty one which syncs successfully.

This *usually* means that the device did not accept the data it was sent either because it didn't receive all of it, or it didn't understand it. That is why I need the synclog.

Do you mean after you remove contacts from your address book the sync continues?

I had to 7zip it so that it does not have its original 25 MB size. With that Adressbook which contains about 60 times the same bogus contact with a huge Photo (Thanks Jennifer :-) ). I have also 7zipped the log. I hope that helps...

The import is just too large for me to import due to the image data.

If I had to guess as to your problem, it's your device having an issue with the size of the images. IIRC, the filesize limit for images over activesync is something like 32k.

That being said, I have a number of contacts with images and am having no issues at all.

What makes me wonder is that with horde 4 I had no issues with that adress book and the images as well. Some images exceed 32 kb I will try to make them all smaller... Maybe that helps.

I have reduced them all to 4-6 kb each. Seems to be working know. Maybe there should be a warning in horde when images exceed the 32k limit or even an automatic resize (althought I do realize that this might be hard to do and cause quite a server load).
