While uploading latest horde 4 to Debian, it was rejected because of missing copyright info:

js/jquery.mobile/ contains compressed js and css files
js/plupload/ contains several compressed js and one presumly sourceless swf file

Can you please add an "src" directory including the uncompressed js and css files and the swf source file?

Thanks

GPL refers to source code as "preferred form of the work for making modifications to it" (jQuery is both GPL and MIT, so this is not a hard requirement). Compressed js files are not the preferred form because it is mostly unreadable and this is a one way process (comments are lost and variable name are changed).

Of course, you can provide both source and compressed form.

This is all irrelevant. The GPL most definitely doesn't require us to ship the source code with the distribution. It only requires us to provide the source code on demand. And the license is clearly identified in the files. So we have fulfilled both prongs of the GPL (identifying the license; providing access to the original source).

So I point you to the websites identified in those files to grab the source. We have provided a way for you to "get the source" so we are in compliance.

OK. IANAL.

Maybe (again IANAL).

But the pointer is weak, as in http://git.horde.org/co.php/horde/js/plupload/plupload.js?rt=horde-git&r=e8c31ad15ad632b81f29937e90548ac6e550012f, where it points to http://www.plupload.com/license that you don't control in any way.

Why don't you simply do like /framework/Mime_Viewer/js/syntaxhighlighter where there is a "script" directory and a "src" one? This is just some kilobits more ...

I won't argue more, this is your decision, feel free to close this report.
