Because without this patch pear install components/package.xml gives me "ERROR. no such files exist 'test/Components/fixture/framework/simple/ignore/test1'." Fri, 01 Jul 2011 16:15:09 +0000 https://bugs.horde.org/ticket/10296#t66068 Changes have been made in Git for this ticket: Add missing files (Bug #10296). components/test/Components/fixture/.gitignore is the culprit that hid these files on my local system. In principle it would be better to rename the .gitignore to something that is not parsed by git. This would require making this an optional argument just for the sake of testing though.
