Sounds like something that should be an option.  I prefer to see these
per-message reports so that I can visually check to see that the
filters are working and not getting false positives.  Maybe add a
check box to the "create filter" to enable verbose display of the
filter.

We talked about the same thing. I don't even want to display a
notification per message. Thus there wouldn't be anything to link from.

Really? I must admit that I haven't used the IMAP filter backend in a while,
but this would be a terrible implementation. Imagine you have some
hundred mails to be filtered (which I usually have if away for a day).
We should fix that.
Hmmm...  I'm thinking that we are talking about two different types of
filtering.  Attached is a quick screenshot of the result of my filters
in action.  In this case, most messages are being deleted, but the
second message is being moved into the folder "Asterisk".  My
suggestion, is to make part of the filter report (such as the subject
line) a link to the message.  So that if I want to open the message
that was delivered into the folder "Asterisk", all I would have to do
is to click on the subject and that specific message opens.  This
saves the time of opening the folder "Asterisk" and searching for that
specific message.

I hope this makes since.

Not possible, because most probably more than one message has been filtered.
I don't understand this.  When a filter is run, there is a filter
report line PER email.

I don't understand this.  When a filter is run, there is a filter
report line PER email.  I've never seen a time when one line was in
reference to more than one email.  I can understand that if a message
is permanently deleted, then there would be nothing to link to, but if
it's moved to another folder (including trash) then there would be a
valid target for the link.

This won't be done for 3.x. It's a possible enhancement for 4.x after
the 4.0 release.

It would be useful if each filter report would also contain a link to
that message.  For example, I have a filter that moves all
SpamAssassin flagged mail to the trash. If I see an email that's been
moved to the trash that I want to manually inspect, I currently must
take the time to search the trash folder, which can take some time.
If the filter report contained a link to that specific message in my
trash, then manual inspection would be one click away.
