Fixed with a nicer solution - backing the popup with a blank iframe.

z-index won't help here. Hiding the select boxes seems the best
solution to me. While it's ugly, it's also well proven.

Unless said friend has a patch, then I'm not inclined to believe him.

One friend of mine told me, that this can be solved with z-index.

This is a known bug in IE. There are only a few options - live with
it, move the drop-down elsewhere so it doesn't overlap the select
widgets, or introduce some incredibly ugly javascript (possibly with
CSS) to hide select widgets while the dropdown is shown. Thoughts?

In IE, when viewing New Event and clicking on Go To icon, select
fields from new event form are over the openeded javascript window.
Check the screenshot.
