What you are seeing is probably a quoted-printable encoded message.
And this *is* the message source.

When viewing messages and selecting 'Save As' and from here, selecting
either 'Open' in Outlook Express or 'Save to Disk' it results in text
in the body of the message being replaced with the character '='

The problem is indiscriminate.

Currently I am using Horde Webmail 3.1.3 with emails set to HTML
format. Operating system is WinXP and I only use Outlook Express 6.0
to open saved *.eml files. The problem occurs within either Internet
Explorer or Firefox.

I also tested Outlook Express on its own, by saving a message already
existing within Outlook and I found the saved *.eml message remained
intact and unaltered.

I hope you can help. Kind Regards.
