It looks like Mozilla/Mac and Mozilla/Linux are triggering the
contextmenu on mousedown, while all other browsers are triggering on
mouseup.  Geez, you would expect/hope/wish that event behavior was
consistent cross-platform on the same browser, right?  (Of course, I
saw the same strange behavior w/FF Mac when dealing with catching
scrollbar events - it handles the scrollbar differently than Linux and
Windows.)

2.0.0.11 on MacOS 10.5, the context menu disappears once I release the
button. It works if I continue to hold the mouse button down.

IE works fine for me too, as does Safari.

2.0.0.11 on WinXP works,

1.5.0.12 on CentOS does not.

Doesn't work for me with ff on Linux (2.0.0.11) and OS X (2.0.0.9).
Anyone else?
