You mean you want it removed from the quoted text altogether? I would be very much against that - accidental matches would be destructive and very mysterious to the user. I agree, especially when the signature appears in the middle of a message. How do the other clients handle this issue?

basically, yes Other clients like Thunderbird, pine, Kontact (KDE).... do it like this.

When replying to a message also a correctly separated signature (-- ) gets quoted. Shouldn't it be excluded from quoting? The same is true for DIMP.
