You mean without type attribute? Correct. By the way is there a reason why horde.org uses different type of favicon? Because it's 4 years old?

The Horde app icons are of type "ms-windows icon resource - 1 icon" and the web site icon is of type "PC bitmap data, Windows 3.x format, 16 x 16 x 24". I guess IE can't handle the bitmap image with the type attribute.

Strange, but in Horde apps icon is displayed correctly, so I don't know for sure.

Specify favicon type, because some browsers do not display it without type attribute.
