Ah, thankyou Michael for pointing that out, I never new that with
ingo, Filters are then activated within IMP...I see now why I failed
to understand what Jan wrote.

I was never aware that to use Filters within IMP as I suggested that
you also need to install the Ingo Module.

Enough said, alles klar jetzt.

Thanks.

Jan, I think you have missunderstood me.

I know that Links are available to move messages within IMP itself,
that is not what I am on about, what I mean is for IMP to check
Messages as they arive for given critiria (Message Rules) and move
them to said Folders before the User knows about it!!
This is exactly what ingo does.

Say if I constantly receive a System Message from a Specific User
Address, then if I could configure a Message rule to scan Messages
with eg. system@mail.com as the sender, then IMP would see this and
move the Message automatically to a specified mailbox Folder.

Not Manually doing it but setting Rules so that Messages are moved
automatically as they arive in the Users Mailbox.

Do you understand?

All this (beside message coloring) implemented since the first
versions of IMP, now even moved to a separate application with
configurable backends.

If Mailbox supports Folders (Example: IMAP):

An oppertunety to have a seperate window / Box for configurable
Message Rulings.

Rulings would entail filters of Incoming Message Headers:

+ Move Messages from a given EMail Address

+ Move Messages with specific wording in the Subject Line

+ Show Messages in a specific colour from a given EMail Address

+ Show Messages in a specific colour with specific wording in the Subject Line

+ Delete / Trash Messages from a given EMail Address

+ Delete / Trash Messages with a specific wording in the Subject Line

. These could be set as Automatic / Manual with popup warning

. A Link to a Box / Popup to list current Message Rules

. File-based / MySql based backend

. An option to apply a Rule to Mail already in Mailbox

. Also to apply Rules to Messages collected from "Fetch Mail"
(External Sources)

Any ideas? Sounds good? what do you think?
