I don't think that moving messages to invisible folders is more user friendly.

What do you consider correct behavior here? Use the folder for
drafts/spam even if it's not subscribed? Seems to me that ignoring
folders that aren't subscribed to is technically correct, but
obviously it's at least a little user-unfriendly...

OK, more clarification.

The problem seems to be related to subscriptions. If the folder is
subscribed to, then the system will recognize the settings. Otherwise
the setting is not recognized, and for example saving a message as a
"draft" fails unless the folder is subscribed to.

Sorry for not being more clear about this in my original report!

My bad... two things I got wrong in my original report.

The problem settings are "drafts" and "trash" folder (not spam), and
the settings *are* created in the database but simply are not listed
in options, even if the user logs off and back on.

Do other preferences work properly?

Using IMP: H3 (4.2-cvs), last updated today.

For individual users trying to set "Spam" and "Trash" folders, if the
folders already exist the feedback appropriately states this but then
says the setting have been updated. However, the update does not
actually happen and the preference is never actually set. Checking the
horde database (mysql) shows the new preference is never set there.
