1) POP3 is being used
2) Either trash or virtual trash is not being used
3) The empty trash icon config option is off.

There is absolutely no check on whether there is deleted messages in
the current mailbox and/or mailbox page.

There is misbehaving issue, since if there is no deletet messages on
current page to view, even that other pages do have them, there is no
Emty Trash icon shown.
One needs to go on page where one or more messages has been deletet.
