Yes, I've just tried it and it works. It's clumsy, though, (or maybe I 
am :) ):



While IMP replaces the old signature with the new one when I switch to 
another identity, that doesn't happen while using stationeries.



I'd still prefer my original suggestion. It would be much more flexible, IMHO.

Stationery has been added to IMP in CVS HEAD which can be used for 
such a purpose.

Currently, one has to create a new identity to use a different 
signature. It would be very useful, though, if it was possible to 
define any number of signatures which then could be chosen for use 
during message composition independently of the identity used.



For ease of use and backwards compatibility, each identity should 
nevertheless get one default signature assigned.
