I finally got aspell working, but I still wasn't able to reproduce
this. Try to update your checkout and see if it's still happening. If
so, ask on the mailing lists if someone else is seeing this or try to
debug it down on your own.

I get the problem using aspell and British English. I don't know if
it's related but I've also had entire sections of message bodies
disappear on occassion.

I can't reproduce this, using ispell and German spell checking. What
did you use?

Messages from IMP have no trailing space after the signature separator
'-- '. The space appears to be present in the compose window, but be
stripped by the automated spell checker.
