That would be too much a performance hit, because we would need to 
check all folders for new messages on each page request.

There are already two places where people can check the number of new 
messages.

After we deployed IMP 4.x, we got this piece of feedback.  I think 
he's asking that folders with new messages be displayed in bold w/ the 
number of unread messages in the "Open Folder" dropdown...

i had one other suggestion; when my filters sort mail, i'm not able to see

whether i've received filtered messages easily, since they go directly to that

folder;



i know that i can have messages delivered to my inbox and copied to 
the folder;

but then i have to delete the messages from my inbox and the messages in my

folder show up as "unread";



is there a way to make webmail work like google gmail? in gmail, when messages

are filtered into folders, you can see very easily whether you've received

messages in your filter folders, because they're in bold and show the 
number of

unread messages;



right now in webmail, i have to click on the folders icon, leaving my 
inbox, to

see something akin to what gmail offers
