The attached patch implements a feature of aspell that ignores quoted email. It adds "-e" to $spell_opts, which turns off spell checking for quoted email. I don't care to spell check the typos that someone else sent me and I'm replying to.... I don't know if a functional equivalent exists for ispell but if it does, that could also be added as an option in a similar fashion.
