It does, and it works fine here. You need to tell us more, e.g. what exactly is happening/being displayed under which circumstances. Also make sure that you have the iconv and mbstring extensions installed (horde/test.php).

The current IMP version couldn't display the chinese named folders correctly even changed to chinese language interface. Can the encoding method of the folder name change to unicode or BIG5?
