I can't reproduce this, it works fine here. Note that you need to 
choose the Japanese translation if you want send messages with 
Japanese strings. Also you should upgrade to IMP 4 that has *much* 
improved multibyte support.

When sending a mail,

If there are some japanese characters in the From:,To: or Cc: field,   
it become empty.

For example, "From: REAL-NAME <name@domein>" (REAL-NAME is in japanese)

becomes "From:".



Pleae note: Since iso-2022-jp is a 7 bit encoding and uses all 
printable ascii characters,

it will have "@","<",">" etc.

Here is the iso-2022-jp encoding of my real name.
