All cases where this happened in the past have been c-client or
configuration issues. I understand that you can't simply use a
different c-client library on Windows, but there is nothing we can do
about that.

Maybe you find some hints how to solve this problem in the mailing
list archives, in case this is a configuration fault.

I updated all of them and nothing happened (restarted everythign too).
I am on a windows server though.

An older version of IMP using an older version of horde does work
though so it must be a problem in the newest revision.

I solved the problem by updating some PEAR modules. I saw that
raiseError() was not found by Mail.php in the error log.

Packages which i upgraded:

Mail

Net_SMTP

DB

(pear install xxx)

I also have this issue. I found out it is some issue with charset. If
I delete problematic mails containing special characters mails are
displayed again. I have a suse 9.1 server set to german iso8859-15
charset.

Horde is also germany language layout.

Any hints?

That was using PHP5 so i guess that could've been the problem.

I went back to 4.3.3, and it does the same thing.  It seems to know
how many new messages i have (ie it says inbox (2) then i send an
email to myself and it goes inbox (3)), but no messages are visible
and it registers as empty.

could there be a missing extension?  all other functions seem to be ok.

The c-client library is compiled into php_imap.dll. It still sounds
like a c-client issue though, can you try a different PHP version?

Horde IMP seems to have the proper directory structures which match
those I get using Outlook Express, but all folders contain no
messages, while they are filled to various degrees in OE.

This would suggest to me that my IMAP server is functioning, but the
client function of IMP is breaking.  I'm on a windows machine, and am
using php_imap.dll rather than c-client--could this be the problem?
