Well, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. Although I am kind
of curious why 8m isn't quite enough memory, but that's okay. I upped
it to 16m, and hopefully that is enough.
State ⇒ Not A Bug
I pressed Home again, and it came up, with the following message in error_log:
[client 139.169.132.64] PHP Warning: Unknown(): A session is active.
You cannot
change the session module's ini settings at this time. in Unknown on

Then I logged out, then logged back in, and the portal page is empty,
like the preferences didn't get saved at all.
So, I'm not sure what to make of that.
Thanks for the help, and I'm sorry I'm bothering you guys.

Any idea why this is happening? This seems to be what is causing the
inability to change anything. I just completely reinstalled, and a
couple of modules (klutz, agora, ansel, along with the normal
turba, chora, etc). I was editing the layout, in this order:
google search, address book
calendar: past events, calendar: monthly events
calendar: month view, random fortune
sunrise/sunset, moon phases
comics (expanded)
Then pressing home doesn't bring up anything, just stays on the layout
page, and the error happens in the error_log.
Just trying to narrow this problem down.
Might be a different problem then with horde, but I've never
encountered it with any other software (I use openwebmail also, and it
works fine), so I'm not sure...
thus chopping off the serialized data. Jan, maybe try it by
artificially truncating the pref_value you have for the portal
preference?
and I still can't update the portal.
I will try again, by completely removing the installation and dropping
the database, and reinstalling completely, and see if it fixes the
problem.

two columns wide. After about, say, 6 rows, it will no longer
display. I had this:
google news, address book
calendar events, calendar monthly summary
calendar month view, random fortune
sunrise/sunset, moon phases
current time, current trouble tickets
news content slashdot, news content security focus (empty)
Now, you can't select layout anymore.
I managed to add another one (comics) after those, before layout was
unavailable, and now the horde page itself won't show up anymore, and
I can't change it because layout doesn't work. I may have to try to
remove it in preferences for a temporary fix (reversion).
