Growler already supports this, we use it for alarm notifications for example.

Growler does not support HTML code (e.g. images, links) in 
notification messages.  And links don't make sense since clicking 
non-error notifications will close the notification.  Growler will 
either need to be extended to support this kind of stuff or the 
notification message will need to be limited if displayed via Growler.

using dynamic mode,

open a message containing a event-invitation.ics and select 'update in 
my calendar' then click 'GO'.

a huge notification pops up : The event was updated in your calendar. 
+ link + base64 encoded string (image).

The link doesn't work. The image doesn't render.

If I open this message in a new window and repeat the above step, 
everything (url, icon) looks OK.
