Then you are running a broken Cyrus version.
Now, when I click "Show active script", it no longer hangs but
produces what you can see in the attached screenshot.
This is a duplicate of ticket #8794.

Ok, thanks for the hint. I did update the pear repository and
downgraded to Net_Sieve 1.1.6.
Now, when I click "Show active script", it no longer hangs but
produces what you can see in the attached screenshot.

Please read the wiki page carefully. You didn't update the pear
repository that comes with Horde Groupware.

The Net_Sieve that ships with Horde Groupware is 1.1.7. Try 1.1.6:
http://wiki.horde.org/GroupwarePEAR
hm, so horde does not use the system wide php-net-sieve.

How can I downgrade the horde internal php-net-sieve (I'm not familiar pear)
fwiw, I tried this:
./pear/pear -c pear/horde.ini --help
Could not open input file: @pear_dir@/php/pearcmd.php

I'd be grateful for further assisstance

that doesn't help either, try disabling TLS.
Disable TLS where and how?
Ok, I guess you meant ingo/config/backends.php:
I've set 'usetls' => false, but that did not help

Sounds like you have one of those Cyrus version that had a broken
capabilities behavior. Which Net_Sieve version do you run? Try
installing the latest, if that doesn't help, try version 1.1.6, if
that doesn't help either, try disabling TLS.
Just to reiterate on that: It works fine with horde-webmail-edition
1.2 which ships Filters (ingo)  H3 (1.2.1).

So this is a regression.

I'm using a Debian stable system. Cyrus is version 2.2.13.
php-net-sieve is version 1.1.6.

Does it work if you disable the preference to automatically upload
scripts after rule changes? Or can you reproduce it if you
upload/download scripts manually through the Scripts icon?
Yes, I can reproduce the hangs when I e.g. click Filters->Script->Show
Active Script (or (De)Activate Script ftm).

If I uncheck "Automatically update the script after each change?" in
the options, I can modify the filtes without any hangs.

I'm using ingo, configured with the timsieved backend (cyrus 2.2)
With horde webmail edition 1.2, changing filter settings works fine.
After upgrading to webmail edition 1.2.5, if I e.g. try to disable a
filter rule, the application simply hangs, nothing happens anymore.

The failure is 100% reproducible, so if you need more information, just ask.
