In my opinion I think that Clear Folder icon is too dangerous for
Inbox at all.
Correction "Clear Folder action is too dangerous to be a simple icon
even with confirmation. At least all other email clients I know have
this feature hidden somewhere in the menu."

I still think current implementation is not safe enough. Just couple
of hours ago, I had another call from the client which deleted all his
emails by accident in the Inbox. This is 5th such call this year and
~20th or so since this feature was implemented.

When searching for this ticket I have found that my clients are not
the only one with this problem. See ticket 7437 for example.

I have found that users very often confuse Clear Folder icon with
Empty Trash icon. They are very similar. Also the confirmation screen
is not very "scary" to rise user attention.

In my opinion I think that Clear Folder icon is too dangerous for
Inbox at all. But if it cannot be removed at least two points above
need to be addressed. Maybe confirmation screen could require user
input? Something like writing "I AGREE".

The dialog is now created with redbox.js and can't be confirmed by
hitting enter.

For example if browser window temporary freezes user starts to click
everywhere with a mouse and hits ENTER a lot of times. After browser
unfreezes, BOOM, messages are gone.

I suggest to remove this function from INBOX folder at all, or make
confirmation window similar to those, when you perform empty/delete
actions on folders.

Any ideas how to make a link that doesn't have an access key defined
by intention, and that already requires an additional confirmation
harder to get to? How can one *accidentally* hit that button?
