  Michael: sessions are set to default PHP (file-based). I have 
$conf['sessionhandler']['type'] = 'none';

And what application is providing the whitelist functionality? Ingo? Sam?

When viewing a message, if a user chooses to whitelist the message and 
then chooses 'Click HERE to go to your whitelist management page.', 
the session does not persist and the user is presented with the login 
page. Perhaps the 'click HERE' link should be changed to be a redirect 
from index.php instead of going directly to whitelist.php.
