It needs to do drag and drop of images, text, links, and other
content seamlessly.
It does.  Don't use the plaintext editor - use the HTML editor.

These, and your other comments, should be discussed on the mailing lists.

When I select text, then drag and drop it (with my mouse) to another
location in an email message during New Message creation or
reply/forward of a message, the text stays where it was.  I expect all
text editing and message creation features to work AT LEAST as well as
they do in my Google Chromium or Mozilla Firefox Browser standard
webmail applications like Google, Live, etc.

HOW COMPLICATED CAN THIS BE, with WYSIWYG web mail editors having
existed since the early 1990's?  You can get the code FREE from
LibreOffice.  Why not ask for help with this from the piles of code
already available.

Let me point out that the ONLY REASON I use Horde Groupware for
webmail is that most of the other free versions suck worse, and I
spurned Horde for years in favor of Outlook or Thunderbird BECAUSE the
GUI was so ugly and tedious to use, and messing with email was so
frustrating and labor intensive.   I just started using it to avoid
having to spin up thunderbird and put up with its lethargy in
downloading all the cached email through IMAP under UBUNTU (I use
tbird all the time under Windows 8, and it has its own annoyances).
But Horde's editor is a SUPREME PAIN IN THE NECK.  It needs to do drag
and drop of images, text, links, and other content seamlessly.

I don't write merely to complain.  I want to USE horde a lot more in
the future.  And I need it to function practically before I make that
commitment.  I and MILLIONS OF OTHER CPANEL WEBMASTERS.

Yes, I know, I can use LIVE.com and GMAIL and YAHOO MAIL, and ZOHO,
but I have to put up with THEIR business models and space limitations.
  I already spend $100 a month on a dedicated server.  I'm hoping
Horde can become my email program of choice among all of them.  In
order for this to happen, HORDE developers must

1.  Make the editor into a world class substitute for libreoffice
writer, more on the order of Google Docs

2.  Provide ever more sophisticated management, import, export and
linking of address books.  For example, I need merge and purge
functions to simplify address cleanup, full integration with my
Android (Nexus 5, etc) phone and tablet contact lists, ability to
email-merge to groups of contacts, and more intuitive finding of
contacts among my other address books.  For example, I want to list
all my address books with other mail programs or webmail programs,
including Outlook and thunderbird on my PC, and HORDE's address
location service needs to look for matching text or emails among all
of them.  It also needs an easier way of synchronizing with
thunderbird and outlook contact lists.  I have read instructions on
this, but haven't a clue how to set up thunderbird to access Horde's
address book, or vice versa.  We need a simpler, bulletproof method
that normal users can use.  Also, Horde needs to add date tokens to
every element in an address book entry.  Creation date becomes the
starting token, then whenever an element changes, Horde adds the
current date token to it without erasing the old element which the new
element replaced.  This would add to the bulk of the address book over
time.  But it would make merging, and purging of multiple entries very
easy, and it would keep people from losing valuable stuff..  Horde
needs to recommend address book maintenance to the user by detecting
duplicates.  It also needs to conjecture about the name when only the
email address exists for an entry.

3.  Provide better archiving for YEARS of email caches.  From the
practical viewpoint, I let my email build up in imap for a year,
purging the spam and stuff not worth saving as the days roll by. At
the end of the year, I move everything into the archive for that year,
with some messages going into a special topical archive folder for
that year and topic.  Sometimes I need to search one or more archives
to find certain content.  I really would like a feature like that
built into horde, something that automates the process.  Remember that
many users might want to leave a legacy of their thoughts (sent mail),
and discussion threads on certain topics for their heirs.  Why
shouldn't Horde provide that feature as a tool for improving
civilization?  People could bequeath their archives to historical
societies, and Horde could facilitate this, and earn search fees from
libraries and research institutions and governments for access.  Horde
could facilitate stashing the archives at archive.org. but maintain a
local horde catalog of everything in the bequeathed archives.  Without
such a service, much if not most valuable stuff that people write
simply disappears when they die or suffer a life crisis like divorce,
war, changing jobs, leaving educational institutions, etc.

Please don't mistake my comments for complaints.  I felt delighted to
see the new user interface. Thanks for all the hard work and devotion.
