See new emails in subfolders.
check all folders for new mail, you won't be notified.

RIght-Click Check For New Messages was the key.

I was expecting that to be a literal check for new mail, not a "check
for new mail" preference.

Thank You.

Resolved!

See new emails in subfolders.
I should clarify, I mean "unread" email in subfolders, just as the
inbox does.
Did you subscribe to these subfolders? Unless you subscribe to these
subfolders or check all folders for new mail, you won't be notified. I
have quite a few (sieve) filters active too and new mail notifications
in subfolders do show.

No.  \Recent is IMAP for "this is the first time *any* program has
opened the mailbox and this message existed in it".  It is different
from the \Unseen flag.

keep the \Recent flag when moving messages between mailboxes.
Recent is IMAP language for unseen?

Are you using the IMAP filter?  If so, there is no way to reliably
keep the \Recent flag when moving messages between mailboxes.

Needed for replacement of Opera email client:
See new emails in subfolders.

If I have rules that reroute emails, I don't see them as new in subfolders
