This is expected.  javascript is required for both the basic and
dynamic view.
ok, ic, didn't realize yet this changed.

too bad, since this was a valid usecase for us. any chance you 
consider this decision?
Absolutely not.  It would require the entire message page to be 
rewritten to allow for modal dialogs for PGP messages.  And it would 
require two separate preferences pages for PGP.  etc. etc.

It is 2013.  There is really no reason javascript should not be 
enabled on a modern browser (security is not a valid concern anymore).

given i disable javascript in my browser
and login in simple mode
when i open an encrypted mail
and click on 'You must enter the passphrase for your PGP private key 
to view this message.'
then i should be able enter my passphrase
but nothing happens
