Agree with Jan. This was done for a reason. When deleting messages, a user is not waiting for the action to be completed, unlike loading a preview/mailbox.

Even then the message is striked-through, until the deletion finished and the message is removed completely from the list.

Why? The messages are already displayed striked-through while they are being deleted. Didn't remember that (we removed strikes from our installation). But, IMO, if we have the pref use_trash enabled, we should show the loading image since there is an operation pending yet.

Deleting messages may not be instantaneous so we should show enable the loading image during this process.
