No, that's why I suggest using this during compose.php *reload*. Of
course, if you first append all attachments, and only then start
writing the messages, this won't help either. But I personally don't
like the additional newline being added to the top of the message
(which didn't happen in imp4) anyway.
IIRC, this space is necessary due to cursor positioning issues.  Or
else your cursor ends up being placed, for example, on top of your
signature.  Or if you switch your signature during composition, it is
not placed correctly.  Some of this was broken in IMP 4.

Well, we can give it a try then :)

I'm not sure if this will be ok cos it will probably strip also new
line added before the signature - so it will be even worse, i will
have to add new line everytime i write a message. The current behavior
is that there is always a new line before signature so i can
immediately start writing a message.

How about stripping whitespace during each compose screen reload? This
would have the added benefit that users that care already see how the
message would look like after sending.

Well, i didn't know it will be stripped so i was deleting new lines
everytime i added an attachment (very often). I think most users don't
know about stripping new lines and it shouldn't be happening anyway
(what if i want it that way ?).

Ok, do as you wish with this report :) Thank you for your time!

Hm, if you think so... But this wasn't happening in IMP4 and it's
_really_ annoying.
How is this _really_ annoying?  That is a complete overstatement.  My
guess is that 99% of users don't even notice.

Going to mark this as not a bug.  The code to catch this would be more
complex than the issue it is trying to solve.  And any trailing
whitespace is stripped before we send anyway.

More info: You have to set 'Where should the cursor be located in the
compose text area by default?' to 'top' in 'Message Composition'.

Tt happens everytime i click the 'Update' button, no matter if there
are any files to attach. Line is added even when there is not text
in the 'Text' field (do NOT enable HTML writing).
You'll have to track this down yourself because I still do not see.
This is such a trivial issue anyway.

After adding an attachment (and clicking the update button) new line
is added at the beginning of the 'text' field.
